How do you record a VoIP chat session?
Q. I have some equipment (microphone, headset, IM account) but I want to know if there's any special software required for the actual recording, and if so how does that work?

A. I am not aware of there being any way of recording the audio in the Voip session. What I do to record audio is use a free, but very powerful audio recording and editing suite- audacity. Just hit record when you start and it should record the whole conversation

What do you do when the phone company is not responding? I have sunrocket phone service?
Q. My gizmo is not working. the voip light is not lit and the run light is red. I emailed sunrocket but they have not responded. I tried calling them on my cell but they have a recording that says they are not taking customer service calls or sales orders. Then it hangs up. What should I do? How difficult is it to listen in to someone's phone calls?
Q. Is there a way that if you know a persons phone number to set something up where every time that person makes an outbound call it is recorded somehow? A. no easy way. I would guess VoIP would be the easiest method, considering its computer based. Also, I think that SMS messages are saved for a week or so by the mobile phone company.

A. Go to Callwave.com., they have a free 30 trial. I like it and there is a small fee per month after 30 days. The call show a number on your computer when someones calls. There's no freebee's out there that I know of.

A. Hello, The only way I could think of doing such application is using Flash. There is clearly no other *browser independent* way to do so. I am referring to Recording a speech online. You could make it internet explorer dependent (ONLY) and use Active X controls, but that wont work for variety of websites. BUT, you could use an alternative such as an APPLET, java applet. Take a look at the following forum: You could use an applet to implement VOIP over the internet or use FLASH or Internet explorer Active X. GTALK in gmail web application uses Asynchronous javascript to interact coherently and they use only text which is feasable. But to use voice or video, you must use Java Applet or Flash or Active X. My mom has VOIP problems and I need help troubleshooting!?
Q. Please read all before attempting to help...My mom has had her digital phone (VOIP) through her cable company (Insight Cable) for a year and it has NEVER been reliable. I have Vonage and have been very happy with it. My mom doesn't have a computer or the internet so she had to get the VOIP through her cable provider. Again, it has never been reliable. A cable service man came and rewired every jack after the first problem. The second time they replaced her phone brain/modem. It's still bad. It hangs up during calls with different sounds. Sometimes it comes back. Sometimes I can't even get a dial tone when I call her and she doesn't get one to call out. Am I correct to think I should always at least get her voice mail when I call… [cont.]
