What basic services are provided by non-profit organizations?
Q. I'm trying to find out what basic services are provided by non-profit organizations. I know they all have their specific field, but there is a structure of sorts that all non profits will go through. I'm looking for a list of basic (and some not so basic) services they render, as well as a list of information detailing what the organization does through out the year. ie, look for sponsors 20% of the time, give away money or services 30% of the time, etc. Best answer will go to the person who is descriptive, detailed, knowlegable, and meets the requirements of the question. A. I am a volunteer co ordinator in a NFP organization and the basic services we provide are looking after people We have a management committee who run the organization It is their job to look after finding funding and the basics Our field is Public housing we are tenant run and tenant managed The treasurer looks for funding Secretary does the paperwork and myself and other vols look after the community centre We have a constitution which is rules and guidlines that we operate by the committee has 4 general meets a yr and 1 annual general meet Hope this helps in some small way

A. if you mean to work in the DCD (Department for Community Development) you would probably end up as a social worker for foster care... my parents are foster carers and we deal with alot of social workers it is a highly demanded job for the only reason that they have such a high turn over... it is a really stressfull job and you have an extremely heavy case load... my foster siblings are 7, 3 and 6 months and they have already gone through 5 social workers and they have only been in care for 3 years... so yeah is a highly demanded job but it obviously isnt worth it or they would stay longer... we are in desperate need for good social workers so i commend you for your choice... god knows my social worker is buried under piles of paper work...… [cont.]

Are there any services that clean fish tanks?
Q. Im planning on getting fish are there any services that come to your home to clean out fish tanks and change water? My spouse will be home and he is in a wheel chair. I am away on business most of the time so please dont call me lazy.

A. Yes. Most areas have at least one tank maintenance company. Check with your local fish store as they might provide the service, or know of reputable people/companies. If they don't know, check your yellow pages for "aquarium maintenance." Always hire licensed businesses, or people you know. You want a real business as they have insurance to cover damages if anything goes wrong. It usually is under a $1 per gallon for freshwater, and over a $1 per gallon for saltwater depending on reef, FOWLR, etc, but may vary per area. We have a lot of them here, so prices are very competitive, and other areas with only one might cost more.
